First, a little about me. My name is John Hamilton. I was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, raised in northwest Indiana, and presently live in Raleigh, North Carolina. For most of my life, I have made a living as a mechanic. I have one sister who also lives here in Raleigh with her husband, and a niece who lives in Florida; I have no wife, and no children. My parents and grandparents have passed on, but I have several living aunts, uncles, and a myriad of cousins. I am on a journey to discover my genealogical past, and have decided to publish some of my findings here. For the most part, I am using Legacy Family Tree software by Millennia Corporation.

Perhaps you are on a similar pursuit. If you find on the following pages someone to whom you think that you are related, send me an email message for more information. The main family names concerned here are Hamilton and Swiney. If we find out that we have a common ancestor or other relation, and if you also have some genealogical software, maybe we can trade GEDCOM files, and expand both of our genealogies.
